CTE转换 allows high school and Adult Education students the opportunity to earn articulated college credit and high school credit simultaneously by successfully completing the CTE转换 Credit by Exam requirements.

The purpose of the CTE转换 Program is to provide education enrichment opportunities and help to ensure a smooth transition from high school to college.

  1. Who facilitates the articulation agreements?

    The articulation process between high school and college faculty is facilitated by the School Relations Office. 

  2. How many courses are articulated?

    To date, more than 100 courses have been articulated. Each year, more than 5000 units of college credit are awarded to students who successfully complete CTE转换 (2+2/2+2+2) coursework.

  3. How many students earn credit?

    Approximately 5,000 students a year are eligible to earn Butte College credit, with about 3000 students successfully earning a grade of A or B.

  4. Are there fees associated with this program?

    There are no fees associated with this program, and enrollment and crediting are carried out through the cooperative efforts of high school faculty and the CTE转换 Program at Butte College.

  5. Can I receive both college and high school credit?

    高 school student will earn both high school and college credit-by-exam.

  6. Who can participate in articulated courses?

    高 学校的学生 with the support of parents, principal, a high school counselor and a high school teacher.

  7. Which courses can be offered?

    高 schools can offer both career technical education and/or general courses to high 学校的学生.

  8. Who teaches these courses?

    Articulated courses are taught by high school teachers.

  9. Where are these courses taught?

    Articulated courses are taught on the high school campus during the high school day.

  10. Does CTE Articulation offer any events?

    职业生涯 days are offered every year:

    • Activities will include 职业生涯 and Technical programs across campus that will be on display, featuring interactive exhibits, hands on activities and providing opportunities for students to gain information about a wide variety of careers.
    • The day will start with small group campus wide orientation. The event will highlight career occupations in public safety (admin of justice, police academy, fire academy, 鱼 & 野生动物,公园 & recreations), allied health (nursing, respiratory care, emergency medical services), early childhood education, business technology, accounting, art, photography, ceramics, multimedia, drafting, heaving equipment operation, welding, agriculture, fashion, interior design, computer science, sustainable technology, and 其他人.
    • Students will have the opportunity to observe and ask questions.
    • The major goal of the experience is for students to learn about the many careers available and identify areas of occupational interest to explore as they proceed into their 大学时代.
    • Who are invited to these events?
    • 高 学校的学生 with undecided majors are targeted for the visit to encourage them to begin considering and exploring various career options. College faculty will be on hand to inform students about high school courses they need to take to prepare themselves for college education in the career pathway they choose.
